The announcement yesterday of the 2008 Shelby GT from Ford brass came as little surprise to the Mustang community as the info was leaked last week all over message forums for discussion. One thing we did not have was good visual evidence but Ford cleared that up with some nice high quality photos of the exterior and interior which I have posted below. The offcial unvieling of the car will take place at the 33rd annual Mid-America Ford Performance and Shelby Meet in Tulsa, OK this weekend.
The 2008 Ford Shelby GT will be pretty much a carry over from 2007 with a few small twists, it will be available in coupe and convertible form in Vista Blue with Silver Le Mans and side stripes only. For 2008 around 2,300 units will be produced to keep exclusivity for the owners. The Shelby GT includes a Ford Racing Performance Pack to pump horsepower to 319 and torque to 330 lb.-ft of torque. Also included is a high-flow exhaust system with X-pipe crossover to give the Mustang nice healthy sound. Other options rounding out this beast include 3.55 gears and a Hurst Short throw shifter.
After the jump find the full press release and high-res photos.
