June 2007 Mustang Sales Figures Released

Sales looked to be on the up and up with last months sales increase over the previous year but with the end of the model year along with the fact that 2008 Mustangs are on their way to dealerships sales tailed off for the month of June.
Sales of Mustangs for June of this year were 12,781 compared to 15,165 from June of the previous year showing a 15.7% drop in sales. Year to date sales for 2007 are 77,341 compared to 87,284 for the six months of last year, a 11.4% drop. Sales decreased from the previous month but were right inline with what April's sales figures were. I would not read to much into these numbers as the new models are set to hit the dealerships soon.
If you are curious what previous months sales are check out March, April and May Sales.

Is the fact that Ford is selling less to the rental car companies the reason the numbers are a little soft?
