'Blinded By The Light' is not just a song title anymore it's what Mustang owners might be saying upon purchase of the new Glass Roof option Ford has instore for 2009 Mustangs. The Glass Roof option is Ford's answer to what customers have been wanting for years, more natural light inside the cabin. Ford is adding the Glass Roof option to V6 and Mustang GT models for 2009 at a cost of $1,995.00. This will give customers a thrid option along with a coupe and convertible when purchasing a 2009 Mustang.
The Glass Roof is made of tinted privacy glass which reduces infrared rays and vehicle cool-down time by 50%. Owners will not have to endure the bright sun if they so choose as a manual roller blind is built in to cut off any unwanted sunlight. According to Ford the specially formulated glass also protects interior fabric material from solar radiation deterioration and discoloration by reducing solar light transmittance. To help improve acoustics and the Mustang’s interior quietness, the glass also features a layer of vinyl that reduces noise, vibration and harshness.
If your worried about accidents in a Mustang with the Glass Roof option you shouldn't be as the glass is 'Safety Glass', meaning when it shatters the glass will not have any sharp or jagged edges like regular automotive glass.
Glass Roof Mustangs will be built on the same line as regular Mustangs at the Automotive Alliance International plant with the unique glass being installed at Ford's adjacent vehicle personalization facility.

Finally a sunroof. Or should I say a GIANT sunroof! This is a great option for this car. I love that it has the built-in shade feature too.
Nice work!

A T-Top would have been better. Or, how about a normal sunroof, they were invented a few years ago too, some even with glass. And, a sunroof or moon-roof wouldn't cost $2000. What's in your heads? Before you do anything next time, please contact me first so I can prevent you from doing dumb things.

I love the idea about the glass roof. If you want more to the car, just buy a convertible version. Other than that, I prefer the whole glass roof similar to the Edge or the Italian concept mustang.
