Mustang Collector Starts 'Mustang Church of America'

December 31st, 1969 A man by the name of Charles Ales from Frogtown, Kansas has decided to turn his passion for collecting Mustangs into a religion by starting the 'Mustang Church of America'.  Charles, who is retired from 34 years of teaching math has built a 100-by-70-foot building to house his Mustangs, the Church and living quarters for himself.  If you think this is a joke think again because Charles and his adopted son are actually ordained through the Universal Ministry School of Theology to make this legit.  He has also come up with a logo to represent the Church that includes the traditional Christian fish symbol with a Mustang running horse in the middle. He plans to open the Church and Museum in August or September with dreams of inviting automotive legend Carroll Shelby to the dedication. The building will not only hold the church but also a Mustang museum with several cars and model Mustangs; "The Mustang museum will be open daily, and we'll have car shows, swaps and two Mustang blessings a year," Ales said. "Services will be on Sunday, and the church will be non-denominational. I'll preach goodness and helping my fellow humankind. I'll preach what we're supposed to do — make this a better world than we found it." As a car collector Charles has aquired some nice Mustangs over the past which he will have on display including three Boss Mustangs, a 429, a 351 and a 302.  He also has four Shelby Mustangs of which three are shown above inlcuding two 2007 GT500's and a 2007 Shelby GT.
