The Ford Mustang Turns 44-Years-Old Today
Today is the Ford Mustang's 44th Birthday. Back on April 17, 1964 Ford Dealerships around the country started selling the Mustang to a frenzy of buyers. The day before Ford ran simultaneous commercials at 9:30pm on all three major TV networks, ABC, NBC, and CBS. Then on April 17, 1964 thousands of people decended on dealerships around the country to be the first to own a Mustang. On the first day Ford sold 22,000 Mustangs. By the end of 1964 Ford had sold 263,434, and by the first anniversary, April 17, 1965 Ford sold 418,812 Mustangs. The rest is history, Happy Birthday Ford Mustang.
