Looking for a fuel efficient Mustang, try a Fox-Body 4-cylinder
These days if you mention fuel efficient and Ford Mustang in the same sentence some folks might laugh, but did you know a 40 mpg Mustang once roamed this earth. It's true, way back in 1982 and 1983 the 4-cylinder 2.3 liter manual transmission coupe Mustang got an epa rating of 25 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway. It's really a little known fact that most fox-body 4-cylinder Mustangs got consistently good gas mileage all the way up until 1993. From 1980 through 1993 the fox-body 2.3 liter manaul transmission coupes got an average of 23 mpg for city driving and 33 mpg for highway driving as noted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports. Those type numbers rival some of the better fuel efficient cars these days.
Are you wondering what kind of gas mileage your Mustang gets, well head on over to our sister site MustangHeaven.com where I have posted up a long list of Ford Mustang gas mileage's shown by year, model, engine, displacement and transmission type.
