Steve Saleen and his new company SMS Supercars have announced their lineup of ultra-high performance Mustangs based off the new 2010 Mustang GT design. The 2010 Signature Series SMS 460 Mustangs as they are called will feature among other things a SMS supercharged 4.6L engine with horsepower ratings from 475 to over 650.
“After 25 years of rich Mustang heritage, I am excited to begin work on the 2010 model” explains Steve. “Ford has hit the spot with the excellent new Mustang package and has provided me with an outstanding starting point. “The SMS 460 Mustangs will be truly world class performance vehicles and they will be available though the entire Ford dealer network!”
The SMS 460 Mustangs will be fully certified and street legal featuring extensive upgrades and performance innovations, including the patented SMS Red Butterfly Induction hood and a full compliment of SMS ultra-high performance components. Other features on all SMS 460 Mustangs include unique badges, grapics, upgraded drivetrain, suspension, aerodynamics, tires, wheels and interior enhancements.

Just a simple response. Why doesn't Ford supply their own parts for their cars. I think it would be a wise move on their part to start thinking more independently for themselves so they don't have to depend on the other car companies for help. Maybe they can turn some of the dealerships that went under into Ford parts supply companies.
