Evolution Performance builds first 2011 Mustang to break into the 8s

Evolution Performance has posted a video of one of its modified 2011 Ford Mustangs hitting the drag strip--and achieving a time of 8.89 seconds at 147 miles per hour.

Mustangs Daily has the whole skinny, but the short version is this. Evolution Performance has been trying to break the 9-second barrier for a while now, but coming up just short. Finally, earlier this week at Atco Raceway in New Jersey, Evolution snuck under the line.

We have video below. But first, a peek at the goodies that this car is equipped with: A race-prepped and supercharged 5.0-liter V-8, an air-to-water intercooler, headers, a beefed-up fuel pump, racing wheels and tires, a four-inch driveshaft, a nine-inch rear end, and a race-ready transmission.
