Ebay: Street Driven 2006 Mustang GT with 1000+ Horsepower

You don't see to many 1000 plus horsepower Mustangs these days especially ones that can be driven on city streets.  That is why this Ebay auction caught my eye.  This 2006 Mustang GT is truly a one-of-a-kind Supercar and it was built for the sole purpose of beating a 2009 ZR1 Corvette which it has done.  The Mustang features custom Daytona Yellow paint with special dice ghost graphics and custom yellow leather with Option 1 embroidery.  At the heart of this Mustang is a custom engine built by the Nickens Brothers in Conroe, Texas.  The engine features a GM aluminum 427 cid V-8 block from GM's Le Mans road racing Corvette.  It's built with a...

This Mustang makes 1015 horsepower using 116 octane with a race tune at 18 psi.  If you are driving this beast on the street using 93 octane it would make 785 horsepower.  The owner claims the Mustang can put out over 1200 horsepower with an all out race tune. No expense was spared in creating this Mustang and all told the price tag is well over $150,000.  Check out the Ebay auction here or the photos below: Read More

Video: Quentin Tarantino's Yellow Ford Mustang GT

Film Maker extraordinaire Quentin Tarantino was spotted out yesterday having lunch at Cafe Med on Sunset boulevard driving a yellow 2006 Ford Mustang GT. Who would have thought Quentin was a Ford Mustang fan. The Yellow Ford Mustang sported a pair of black stripes and some very odd looking bumper stickers plastered all over the rear of the car. Definitely would not be Quentin's car without a little weirdness as is the case with all of his films.

Quentin Tarantino wrote and directed such films as Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Jackie Brown and Sin City. He also won an Oscar for his writing on Pulp Fiction.

Quantum Performance, an Authorized Shelby Mod Shop will honor the legendary Carroll Shelby with its first annual Team Shelby Texas Roundup Drive on October 25, 2008. The event, which will begin at Quantum Performance's state-of-the-art shops at 13700 Diplomat Drive in Farmers Branch, will feature a rally near Mr. Shelby's birthplace and end at Northeast Texas Community College with a muscle car and hot rod "Show & Shine" Car Show. The show is free to the public and includes a dedication ceremony for the new Carroll Shelby School of Automotive Technology at NTCC. "We're proud to be Carroll Shelby's official Shelby Mod Shop in his home state," stated Kenny Northum, managing partner at Quantum Performance. "This drive is designed to honor him by giving enthusiasts an opportunity to enjoy their cars on the road, raise money for scholarships and be part of history at the Carroll Shelby School of Automotive Technology. We had to limit this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to 100 cars." The Team Shelby Texas Roundup will begin at Quantum Performance at 7:30 AM on October 25. Participation is open to any Shelby car or Ford powered vehicle. The event is being sanctioned by Team Shelby ( http://www.TeamShelby.com), the factory authorized club for Shelby enthusiasts. The rally group is expected to include legendary cars such as the Cobra, Shelby Mustang, Series 1 and GL-H, as well as Ford GT, Falcon, Mustang, Pantera and Tiger. The rally will end at NTCC in Mount Pleasant at about 11 AM for a show and shine. The college will conduct a dedication ceremony for the new Carroll Shelby School of Automotive Technology at approximately 1 PM. The general public can attend the show and ceremony at no cost. "Working with Quantum, we're planning a great local event that combines driving, car show and charitable activities to create a memorable day," added Team Shelby Director Sharon Elliott. "This is the kind of grassroots event that Mr. Shelby asked us to support when we formed the club. We plan to coordinate attendance with the North Texas Mustang Club and members of the Shelby Cobra Association of Texas to make it an annual event." Quantum Performance offers a full complement of speed equipment, as well as an upscale customer service area and parts store. The company maintains, restores and customizes American contemporary and vintage iron by Ford, GM and Chrysler. Shelby Automobiles chose Quantum Performance as its third Mod Shop location. The "Southwest Shelby Mod Shop" facility installs packages that enhance the handling, styling and power of current generation V6 and V8 Ford Mustangs and Shelbys for enthusiasts in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Louisiana. The Shelby Mod Shop offers Shelby "Super Snake" packages for the 2007 and 2008 Ford Shelby GT500, the Shelby Terlingua Racing Team, and Shelby GT500 40th anniversary packages, as well as clothing and accessories. Each vehicle will sport an official Shelby badge denoting the origin of all modifications for inclusion in the official Shelby Registry. "The new Carroll Shelby School of Automotive Technology is dedicated to teaching young people the skills they need to build a better life through the auto industry," added Glenn Martini, Quantum Performance partner. "Of the $75 event fee, $50 will go to the school's scholarship program. I hope someday that we can employ some of the program's graduates to build cars at the Shelby Mod Shop." Quantum Performance also enhances Mustangs with authentic Shelby Performance Parts. Individual components include upgraded brakes, superchargers, suspension components and cosmetic pieces such as hoods and fascias exclusively designed at Shelby Automobiles. Shelby factory experts are involved in helping the Mod Shop meet Carroll Shelby's personal expectations for quality and delivery. Quantum's Shelby Mod Shop features numerous amenities, including a customer lounge area that features wireless Internet, free coffee bar, free conference room, flat screen HDTV, and windowed service bays that allow owners to follow the progress of their cars. The company also has a 1500 horsepower dyno to test and tune cars. Additional information about the event is available at http://www.quantum-perf.com. Read More

I made it out to the Grand Opening of Quantum Performance, 1 of the 3 Shelby Mod shops in the nation to check out the car show, take photos and wander around the shops where they work on the vehicles. Quantum Performance is housed under two separate buildings for thier various operations with one being for the newer Shelby's and the other for classic Mustang work. One of the buildings house a few offices, a performance & parts store and a shop where they work on the classic Mustangs. Inside the classic Mustang shop they have several 60's Mustangs being worked on including an original GT500 getting an engine rebuild. The classic Mustang shop also housed a dynometer to tune the cars they work on and upgrade. The second building which is right next door houses a few offices, showroom and another large shop where they work on the newer Shelby's. With a rough count there were about 10 07-08 Shelby GT500's waiting to be worked on with a few still having window stickers. It was definately a sweet site as you will see in the photos below. The car show featured a wide variety of vehicles including two custom cycles, several 60's, 70's era Mustangs, Shelby GT's, GT500's, a few corvettes, custom trucks, and a few Ford GT's.  It turned out to be a nice Saturday morning for the Grand Opening of the mod shop.  For all the photos I snapped check below:         Read More
