Ebay: Very Rare 1995 Cobra 'R' Engine #1

It's not everyday you see an auction like this on Ebay, a very rare 5.8L 1995 Cobra 'R' complete engine that has never been ran.  This engine was the first engine built at the Windsor Ontario Canada plant back in 1995 for the 255 production run of the Cobra 'R' engine and it has been on display at the plant ever since.  I do know there were only 250 cars sold to the public so that means 4 others were probably used for crash testing purposes.  The current bid is at $1,500 and I expect this auction to go much higher as this is a nice piece of Mustang history.  More photos after the jump or check out the auction here.

    *** UPDATE ***

I know everybody has seen the picture of the 2001 Bullitt Jumping in the streets of San Fransisco but you may not know the story behind the photo and who was driving the car that day.  Well it was Steve McQueen's son Chad who was in the drivers seat for the famous San Fransisco Jump to introduce the 2001 Bullitt Mustang.  The car is serialized with #0034 out of 5582 Bullitts made in 2001.

After the media event with the jump the car was sent back to Ford for a throrough inspection to make sure everything was in good working order.  It then circulated through Ford exces and press people before being auctioned off.  In 2005 at an MCA Mission: Mustang National Show Scott Hoag, who was the program manager of the Bullitt and owner of #0001 Bullitt Mustang discovered the car when he saw the serial number was #0034.  After looking the car over he confirmed it was the actual jump car and provided the owner with a certificate of authenticity.  The car is also listed in the Bullitt Registry.  The current owner, a member (Mberglo) of Brads Mustang Site who hails from Huntsville, AL has decided it's time to sell and has posted it on the forums. A few mods have been added since the current owner took possession including a set of 3.73 gears, Speedcal, Steeda Tri-ax shifter, and a catless x-pipe.  He has all the OEM parts to restore the car back to its original condition. The asking price is reasonable for collectable car like this at $15K.  If you have any interest you can contact the current owner by email at dorner_mail@yahoo.com.   Read More

It seems as though Courtney has grown tired of the car and will auction it away to another owner. Check out the auction here. Read More
  • Jacks Toys Episode 2: Bullitt Number 1

Episode 2 of the Jacks Toys series from his “Toy” museum in Livonia, Michigan. This episode features Mr. Roush talking about the 2001 Bullitt Mustang how he came to own Bullitt Number 1. It's another good episode but I wish these videos would last a little longer, this one is only 1:20, hardly enough time to talk about each car.
