Ford To Drop Cobra Name on the 2007 Mustang Shelby GT500!

It seems the name for the new 2007 Mustang Shelby Cobra GT500 by SVT is to long, so Ford has decided to trim the name a little bit. Ford is dropping the ‘Cobra’ moniker from the name and just going with Mustang Shelby GT500. I am not sure this will fly with long time Cobra owners, myself included. After hearing the news I was a little down and could not understand why, but I guess for now change is good. We will have to wait and see how this name change shakes out.

They never intended to use the cobra name. It is the first real shelby mustang since the 60s. Better than any cobra! The badge is shelbys original.
