What will it cost to own a 475 horsepower Mustang? That seems to be the big question on alot of peoples minds and you ask how do I know. Well lets just say I get at least five emails a day asking me what the price will be on the 2007 Ford Shelby GT500.
Has Ford announced pricing yet, no? Does anybody know the MSRP or official price of the 2007 Ford Shelby GT500, no? What I can tell everybody who is wanting to know the price is that Ford has mentioned a few times the coupe will be in the low $40K range and the convertible will probably be upwards of $45K. I feel this is a good price and Ford has no reason to lie, so those figures are real good estimates of what it will take to own a 475 horsepower monster.

As I read over the 2007 Mustang product summary which I will make availalbe here, I noticed Ford has added two new colors to the lineup for 2007. The two colors include Alloy Clearcoat Metallic and Grabber Orange Clearcoat Metallic. Now Alloy is probably a dark Silver color which seems ok and Grabber Orange is probably Orange or is it.
Upon a little investigation across the great net I found a picture of what the Grabber Orange 2007 Mustang will look like and I have to say I was not impressed at all, after viewing the photo I almost vomited on my dog. Grabber Orange used to be called Valencia Orange as in the Mustang GT-R which is pictured above. On the GT-R Concept the color looks good because it has big wheels and an agressive stance with black accents all around but on a plain jane Mustang what will it look like? Take a look for yourself below.
I have to give thangs to Brad over at TheMustangSource.com for locating a spy shot of it.

You be the judge and now think of what a Shelby GT500 will look like because this color is available for that model as well. I just dont know about this color. Let me know what you think.

This throwback shifter has throwback style and actually has modern performance engineering. Roush Performance is offering a shifter that not only shortens the throw by 40 percent for a faster gear change, but can also take the retro-mod styling of the Mustang another step forward.
By replacing your OEM shifter with the Roush Performance version you will get the maximum performance out of your 2005-2006 Mustang. Quicker shifts and less gear grinding are just a couple of the side benefits of this shifter which was designed by the same engineering group that has helped Jack Roush’s racing teams win two Nextel Cup Championships. The 2005-2006 Mustang Short Throw Shifter (part number 401376) has a suggested retail price of .70.
The optional white ball has the classic Muscle Car styling with the shift pattern etched in black and retails for .95. Complete the ensemble by adding the .95 retro stick shift.
Based in Livonia, Mich., “The Art of Performance Engineering” takes place at Roush Performance. In addition to the Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 Ford Mustang and F-150 styling, handling and performance upgrades, a complete line of performance parts and engines are offered. The SVTOA responsibilites will be transferred over to the Ford Special Vehicle team effective July 1, 2006. The Ford Special Vehicle Team Owners Association (SVTOA) will become a brand new Ford performance club, under the direction of Ford Racing Technology. What this means is that Ford Racing and Ford Racing Performance Parts are taking the lead in continuing the company’s efforts to enhance the Ford ownership experience — not only for owners of SVT vehicles, but for owners of all performance Fords of any vintage.
Although specific details are still being worked out, Ford Racing is so confident that the new, expanded club will appeal to Ford enthusiasts that we are extending all SVTOA memberships for 2006. SVTOA memberships expiring in the first six months of 2006 have been extended free of charge through June 30, when membership in the new club will be offered. Current SVTOA memberships expiring after that date will be offered membership in the new club before their renewal date. In the coming weeks, we will be working to expand the number of Benefit Providers. Plus, we’ll be consulting with SVTOA Chapter directors to help us develop the kind of organization and benefits that will allow this club to build an even stronger relationship between Ford Motor Company and its most valuable customers.
Since SVTOA membership had not required ownership of an SVT-branded vehicle in the past, the idea of expanding the club to all performance Fords and all Ford enthusiasts is not new. What IS new, however, is that all the product news and information you had enjoyed in SVT Enthusiast magazine will now be included in Team Ford Racing’s Inside the Oval magazine. Plus, on top of reading about the world of professional auto racing, you’ll find all-new material on Ford’s grassroots racing efforts, cool new products and vehicles and the latest in Ford performance parts. What’s more, you’ll be receiving the expanded Inside The Oval (with SVT Enthusiast inside) on a monthly basis, which is an enhanced benefit compared to the bi-monthly issues of the past few years.
At the same time, Ford Racing will be unifying its Internet presence by creating an umbrella Web site where the SVTOA, SVT, Ford Racing, TFR and Ford Racing Performance Parts can all co-mingle. In the meantime, www.SVTOA.com will still be your avenue to read about – and tell us your thoughts on – how we can take our new club to the next level. We’ve been reading all of your message board ideas and comments and are taking all suggestions under consideration, so keep them coming.
For now, we’ll be helping in the promotion of our Chapters’ On-Track events scheduled for this year, contribute new product content to both the website and magazine, and continue our work on building the framework for the new club. And we’ll do our best to answer your questions and concerns when you call our Ford Performance Information Center at (866) 377-8862. Stay tuned to www.svtoa.com, and www.fordracingparts.com, for further information on this exciting new era for Ford performance!

When I read a press release about Roush Racing getting back into drag racing I was like it’s about time they get back into the game and what took so long. I mean Roush has been making peformance Mustangs and parts since the mid 90’s and they have not had a drag racing team in NMRA.
The Roush performance division will field a multi-car racing program in the National Mustang Racer’s Association (NMRA) Denso Ford Drag Racing Series during 2006. The ROUSH Performance team will begin the season at the 5th Annual Nitto Tire NMRA Spring Ford Nationals at Bradenton (Fla.) Motorsports Park.
This event, which runs from March 9-12, will see the entire ROUSH Performance fleet participate, which includes the following cars and drivers.
Vehicle, Driver, NMRA Class:
2005 Mustang - Doug Thompson - Modular Muscle
2001 Mustang - Jack Roush, Jr. & Kyle Carrothers - Modular Muscle
2005 Mustang - Don Bowles - Modular Muscle
2003 Mustang - Susan McClenaghan - Open Comp
1967 Cougar - Dale McClenaghan - Open Comp
One of the 2005 Mustangs will be painted red and driven by Thompson as the primary vehicle for parts testing, while the black 2001 Mustang will be the showcase for the ROUSH Performance crate engines. This car will be piloted by Jack Roush, Jr., at some events, and Kyle Carrothers in others.

Press Release:
The new Carroll Shelby Wheel Company, with headquarters in Huntington Beach, California, debuts today. Bringing together the considerable talents of two very experienced automotive professionals, Bill Madden and Ron Pushea, the Carroll Shelby Wheel Company appears to be on the performance fast track. Both principals have extensive experience in the automotive aftermarket and greet this new endeavor with enthusiasm and excitement.
An American icon and motorsports legend, Shelby assumes the position of Board Chairman with Madden as President and CEO, and Pushea as Secretary/Treasurer. Hailed as 1959 “Sports Car Driver of the Year,'’ Shelby sits on the top rung of the automotive legend’s ladder. He is recognized the world over for his unprecedented achievements in the field of motorsports, and is probably the only person to have worked at a visible level with The Big Three automobile manufacturers. Recognition for his past accomplishments has come, in part, from being voted into a number of motorsports’ Halls of Fame. This includes the prestigious “Automotive Hall of Fame,'’ where he was the first inductee from the automotive performance industry.
“Initial projects,'’ said Madden, “will be updated versions of the original GT500 wheels for the 2005/’06 Mustangs. These ‘’Limited Edition Signature Series“ wheels will be available through an exclusive automobile dealer network program.'’
Manufactured to the highest OEM standards, Carroll Shelby wheels will be available in three different finishes, in various sizes and offsets. Wheels are currently in production and are expected to debut and be available at the SEMA show to be held in Las Vegas, Nov. 1-4.
Madden’s background includes upper management positions with Pirelli Tire in Chicago, Houston, and Los Angeles, and Parnelli Jones Wholesale. He also spent time at American Racing Equipment, Ultra Wheel Co., AFX Wheels, and several other wholly owned companies. Madden is credited with re-introducing the ‘Torque-Thrust’ wheel at American Racing, and the development of the Platinum wheel line at Ultra. Both are top-selling items to this day.
Pushea joined Carroll Shelby Enterprises 40 years ago, in the Goodyear Racing tire division. Later, he became one of the first employees of the old Carroll Shelby Wheel Co., and rose through the ranks quickly to become Division Manager and Director of National Accounts. In 1990, he turned his interest and full attention to Prestige International. Today this company has become one of the most respected names in the wheel accessory aftermarket.
A preview special event for the automotive media is being planned for September, and a special rollout presentation will be made at SEMA exclusively for the FORD Dealer group.
