It’s another hot video from the guys at Evolution Performance, this time they take their 2007 Shelby GT500 to the track for a few passes and an 11.81 second result. For the purpose of this pass down the track the GT500 sported a JLT cold air intake system, custom off-road x-pipe, custom exhaust, 4.10 gears and a custom tune using SCT advantage III software. The GT500 put down 500 rwhp and 503 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. Evolution now has the title of the first GT500 into the 11’s and could also being on the heels of the first GT500 into the 10’s. Rumor has it a 10 second pass has already happend according to autoblog.com using a 2.6 pulley and the video to prove it is coming soon so keep checking back for the update.

I knew it was only a matter of time before we saw this piece of video gold. This Shelby GT-H Burnout video comes to us from the great site of Streetfire.net. This video just illustrates what the 325 horsepower Shelby GT-H is capable of and what lies ahead for future owners of the 2007 Shelby GT.
Something tells me this won’t be the first and last Shelby GT-H burnout we see.
You never know what you will find when browsing the Mustang section of Ebay and today was one of those days. I came upon a 2007 Saleen Extreme which is nothing special but what caught my eye was that it was painted in Ford GT Heritage colors. The Heritage colors up to this point have only been found on the Ford GT in limited numbers. What is signifigant about the Heritage color scheme is that it commemorates the Le Mans victories in 1968 and 1969 and marks the 40th anniversary of the beginning of Ford’s four-year domination at the 24 hrs of Le Mans. The color is Heritage Blue with Epic Orange-striped from back to front and three white roundels with a black number.
The 2007 Saleen Extreme is no slouch with its Ford GT like numbers at 550 horsepower and 525 ft. lbs of torque. The only catch on buying a Saleen Extreme in the Heritage colors is that you must own a Ford GT. The reason why is because Saleen wants to keep the production numbers relatively low. The auction on ebay is up to a mere $70K with the reserve not yet reached. Click here to take a look.
Over at Jalopnik.com they have scored a bunch of exclusive photos of a 2006 Saleen Mustang that appears in the new Transformers Movie which is due out sometime in 2007. The Saleen Mustang will take the mark of a decepticon character by the name of Brawl who is matched up against a Camaro concept car by the name of Bumblebee. The movie is being remade from the original animated series that made it’s debut in 1984 that pitted two opposing alien robot groups against each other and used earth as it’s battleground. The show only lasted for 4 seasons but the legend was kept alive with the introduction of transformer merchandise and re-runs of the show. It’s sad to say but I still have a bunch of transformer toys stored away in my garage that I have kept for unknown reasons. I guess my thinking is one day they will be worth something. There lies my problem I started thinking.
Press Release by Sam Haymart: Starting in 2003 out of a humble garage, Mustang enthusiast Sam Haymart began collecting Mustang toy cars, accessories, and related collectibles to sell on his retail website, www.SteedShop.com. Back then, the store only had ten to fifteen products that ranged from die-cast Mustang models to enthusiast cult movies on DVD like Bullitt and Gone in Sixty Seconds. It was a hobby that supported itself.
The on-line store was born because Sam and his many Mustang pals found it nearly impossible to find a good selection of Mustang related products all in one place. “If I wanted Mustang or Ford logo t-shirts or Mustang toys for my kids I had to shop all over town or wait for a big car show,” says Haymart. “There was no single place that specialized in Mustang collectibles, gifts or clothing.”
Three years later, the venture has grown to become a full service on-line retail outlet. In August of this year the decision was made to take the store to a new level, becoming a full time business. The product line has been expanded - literally tripled in size. SteedShop.com now boasts one the largest selections of Mustang and Ford logo apparel, die-cast cars, garage décor, memorabilia, gifts and collectibles anywhere.
The store now features over 350 Mustang and Ford related products. There are over 100 different die-cast car models alone. Unlike many outlets, www.SteedShop.com features all vintages of Mustang models from 1964 ½ through 2007. There are even some rare antique Mustang replicas that are over 40 years old. The new Mustang models range from affordable toys like “Dub City Customs” that you can give the kids to high-end collectible models from Franklin Mint and AutoArt that are better displayed in a bookcase.
“Die-cast cars are something that everyone loves from young to old,” Haymart says. “Some aren’t for kids however, so we carry a line of less expensive toys just for them.” The toy section includes remote control Mustangs, motorized cars and model kits for the hobbyist as well.
The major component of the expansion is the apparel line. Ford Racing, Roush Racing, and Mustang logo casual and formal wear are center stage. “We really wanted to offer the best quality items we could find,” says Haymart. “People will really like the new Jackets, T-Shirts, and other gear we carry.” The selection of apparel ranges from inexpensive baseball caps and logo watches all the way to plush wool outerwear and jewelry.
Closer to Sam’s heart is the collection of rare Mustang memorabilia items for sale at www.SteedShop.com. An avid collector of Mustang memorabilia, brochures, and dealer literature he has amassed an eclectic mix of items that will surprise many enthusiasts. The items include vintage advertising, rare and unique brochures, posters, and even a few rare press kits. “One of the items we came across were some brochures for the 2000 SVT Mustang Cobra,” says Haymart. “What’s rare about them is that the car was never built.” Ford cancelled production of the 2000 model year Cobra before they began building them but the dealers already had sales material on the cars.
The expansion of www.SteedShop.com comes just in time for Christmas. The store is stocked up and ready to deliver for the holidays. “We stock most everything we sell”, Haymart says. “Many on-line and catalog stores order out and drop ship most of their items”. The store displays the shipping and stock status of all items so customers know when to expect their purchases. By keeping items in stock, they can take full advantage of fast USPS Priority shipping services that are standard fare.
The operation is a labor of love for Sam who has been a Mustang enthusiast for over 20 years. He began building his first Mustang at age 14. Later he began organizing cross country Mustang road trips called Mustangs Across America, which have gained international attention and a documentary on the Discovery Channel. His company Steed Publications also operates the Mustang enthusiast news site www.TheMustangNews.com , which is fast becoming one of the most respected and comprehensive Mustang and Ford news outlets on the net.
TPI Performance of Wichita, Kansas is headed to SEMA 2006 with one tricked out 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback dubbed the “The Snake Eater” which they restored as part of a weekly project show on Motor’n TV.
The Mustang was completely taken apart down to it’s birthday suit and media blasted so the team could figure out what they were up against with rust and damaged panels. TPI decided that some work was needed and a few panels had to be replaced but nothing they could not handle. With all of the body work done TPI went ahead and added the ever popular Eleanor kit which they modified to their specifications to give it a unique look.
TPI than turned it’s attention to the engine bay with the installation of a 427 V8 with a 6 speed transmission. With an engine like that and power going to be high you will definately need a suspension to get those ponies transferred to the road so TPI installed a completely new suspension front and rear, with a 9” Ford rear end and Baer brakes on all four corners. The car also sports a full roll cage, H.R.E Wheels, complete sound system by ARC Audio.
If you make it to SEMA this year this is definately one car you should stop by and admire. For more information along with build photos click here.
Another Mustang book has hit the Market and this time it’s the High-Performance Ford Mustang Buyer’s Guide 1979-Present. If the owner of this 2001 Mustang GT was going for shock and awe it seems they have got it because of all the Mustang auctions on Ebay this is the only one that features a half naked lady with a white thong. If you have stopped reading by now I will understand because you are probably searching feverishly for a link to more pics of this young lady. With the auction almost over you have not missed much because the stock 2001 GT with no mods currently has a price of $4K with only one bid.
This must be my week for videos because I have another one for you from Winding Road magazine. In the video Parnelli Jones is being interviewed about the car that He and Saleen put together to sell to the public. He talks about how he came up with the idea to make a modern version of his old Trans Am car along with all the features the car has to offer. Saleen will be producing 500 Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang’s with the first one going to Mr. Jones.
