2008 Boss Mustang Rumor or Reality?
July 28th, 2006 by CobraMatt

According to a few sources on the net along with a previous entry we did a 2008 Boss Mustang could be the next specialty vehicle in a long line from Ford. In an upcoming Motor Trend issue it’s said the Boss Mustang will return as a 2008 model and could possible use the 5.0L Cammer engine. As to what is said in the article we have no idea but this information should be enough for you to start imagining what a Boss Mustang could really be.
For a little history on the Boss Mustang you can check out my other site MustangSpecs.com or you can keep reading as I have pulled a few highlights. In 1969 Ford introduced the Boss 302 and Boss 429 models. Styling for the Boss 302 was done by Larry Shinoda, the suspension by Kar Kraft, and the engine was done by Ford who used the 5.0L block with the new 351 Cleveland heads. Boss Mustangs were made for three years from 1969-1971. Production numbers for the first year were relatively low just under 2500 units. Production in 1970 tripled to about 7500 units and numbers for 1971 were a modest 1806 as the Muscle car era was coming to an end.
On a sidenote Ford originally wanted to name the Boss “Trans Am” until they discovered that GM had already licensed the name.

That alsome I Own a 69 boss 302 and a 70 boss 302, there not as fast as my 68 shelby GT 500 but,
I just purchased a 07 shelby GT 500. Had to go all the way to Florida.
I plan to purchase the new boss. I’ve also seen the new camaro and it still don’t compete with the mustang.
