‘94-’04 Convertible Hardtop by Smooth Line

February 12th, 2006 by CobraMatt

Ok, don’t laugh at the pictures I have included with this article. They were the best I could do with the limited resources I had to work with. Anyway, Smooth Line noted as the worlds leader in hardtops has come out with a new removable hartop for the 1994-2004 convertible Mustang. At first glance the hardtop looks like a 2005 Mustang hardtop and you are right about that, Smooth Line has taken some styling cues from the new 2005+ Mustangs.

The new Daytona R removable hardtop is easy to install with no tools or modifications required. The hartop is made from lightwight fiberglass and comes with tinted windows along with a host of other options below:

  • Rigid / lightweight fiberglass composite
  • Black urethane primer ready for topcoat
  • Full upholstered to match interior color
  • Easy to install and remove (no tools required)
  • No vehicle modification required
  • Exterior rain guards
  • Tinted windows (Defogger available)
  • Rear quarter windows (Opt. side scoops)
  • Weather tight rubber seals
  • 12 Month Warrantee

Hey there, just wanted to let you know about Smooth Line tops. I recently purchaced a top for my 1960 Austin Healey. It arrived in good shape. The fit is pretty close, but I have ran into a problem with the finish. The primer has bubbled after sitting outside, under my car cover, here in california. I contacted Smooth Line , with my complaint. Gary, the sales manager said he had seen this happen once before. He then tried to convince me that if I set it in the sun, it will go away. Anyone who knows something about paint, knows once it lifts, it doesn’t magically re-adhere. I asked for a reasonable compensation of 2 hrs labor to sand and paint ($ 200 ). Denied. Just thought you should know, warranties and workmanship are questionable .
