New Colors Added For 2007 Mustang

March 14th, 2006 by CobraMatt

As I read over the 2007 Mustang product summary which I will make availalbe here, I noticed Ford has added two new colors to the lineup for 2007. The two colors include Alloy Clearcoat Metallic and Grabber Orange Clearcoat Metallic. Now Alloy is probably a dark Silver color which seems ok and Grabber Orange is probably Orange or is it.

Upon a little investigation across the great net I found a picture of what the Grabber Orange 2007 Mustang will look like and I have to say I was not impressed at all, after viewing the photo I almost vomited on my dog. Grabber Orange used to be called Valencia Orange as in the Mustang GT-R which is pictured above. On the GT-R Concept the color looks good because it has big wheels and an agressive stance with black accents all around but on a plain jane Mustang what will it look like? Take a look for yourself below.

I have to give thangs to Brad over at TheMustangSource.com for locating a spy shot of it.

You be the judge and now think of what a Shelby GT500 will look like because this color is available for that model as well. I just dont know about this color. Let me know what you think.

With Stripes and Big wheels it may look acceptable. However, aren’t there enough good colors around that they have to pick something marginal like this?

I agree Ralph, I think plain old Yellow is 10 times better than this color. This color looks sick to me.

The orange shown above does not pop enough. I think it needs to be a bit darker with a higher gloss. The orange at this site http://www.mustangblog.com/index.php/2006/1st-2007-shelby-gt500-delivered/ is awesome. It may just be the photo but I prefer the orange. I would need to see it in person.

I saw a 2007 Orange GT and it looks good to me. However, I still prefer my Screamin’ Yellow GT! Mustang needs to have a brighter metallic red. The 2005 & ‘06 red is drabby.

The purpose of the “new” color is to capitalize on the past. The “new” Mustang is a retro to 1969-70. This was the racing colors of Bud Moore Mustangs with Parnelli Jones and George Follmer. Most of the new Shelby Mustangs are being projected for the baby boomers that still remember the good old days of muscle cars.

I like the idea of an orange Mustang but, I think the color should more hugger orange like the 69 Camaro!

The new Grabber GT Covertible is the dogs bollocks, people are so amazed and transfixed that they are slowing down, stoping at green lights, even asking if its a factory color or if I had it done.

My son’s camp said “its the camps favorite car”

    Hey Guys,

If you were never around the 69′ and 70′ model years you will never understand the history behind this color. And this is not a Chevy either. This is a tribute to the “True” muscle Mustang of yesteryear.

I just ordered my 2008 shelby GT500 convertible in grabber orange with ebony stripes, (a new option for 2008). I sure hope it looks as good as the GTR. I think it looks good with white stripes, but not with tungsten stripes.

I have had my ‘07 Grabber Orange GT for about a week.
We absolutely love the car and the color! It does have the scoop on the hood and 18″ rims which definately adds to the car, but we have heard only great comments!!
    Different stokes for different folks!

Should have continued the black on the roof and trunk\spoiler. This would have popped out the orange more.

I agree, it’s plane as hell as is, and I personally don’t care for the colo when it’s basic. But I’ve been looking at other pictures here and there with things done to it and it looks so much better. The plans I have for mine iis 4-way air ride all the way around, Black Fr500’s all around with 245 in the front and 275 in the rear(so I can drop it to the ground at car shows), mix and match of body kit pieces to make something unique and so much more planned for it.

I just bought a 2007 Grabber Orange Mustang with V6 and it has black interior. I do plan on doing some graphics work and ground effects package. I love my car. It’s a joy to drive and no one can keep their eyes off of it. Everyone loves the color. No bad comments yet. We all have or own oppinion on color.
