Project Source Horse Takes Shape

January 6th, 2006 by CobraMatt

Project Source Horse is the brainchild of Brad Barnett over at TheMustangSource.com. Brad purchased the Tungsten 2006 Mustang GT droptop in September of 2005 from Town & Country Ford in Alabama and upon delivery made the car into a project on his website. The car started off with mild upgrades at the time of purchase and has now grown into a full fledged project with the likes of Vortech, MRT, SVP Unlimited, Goodyear and Steeda lending parts, labor and supplies for the build.

Brad is hoping to have the project completed for a February 10th unvieling at a car show in Alabama. The project has attraced a slew of media coverage including Southern Rodder, Northern Rodder, and Canadian Rodder magazines which are giving the project three pages per issue beginning in February and continuing until the build is complete. Mustang Times magazine (the monthly publication of The Mustang Club of America) will be documenting the build, and Modified Mustangs magazine will feature the car this spring.

Brad also plans to show the Mustang at several local, regional, and national Mustang shows including but not limited to the following:

  • World of Wheels Custom Auto Show, February 2006, Birmingham, Alabama
  • Gulf Coast National Mustang Show, March 2006, Pensacola, Florida
  • Mustang & All-Ford “Big Show”, April 2006, Birmingham, Alabama
  • Mustang Club of America National Mustang Show, May 2006, Johnson City, Tennessee
  • 2006 Grand American Cup Races, July 2006, Birmingham, Alabama (on display in the paddock)
  • MCA 30th Anniversary Celebration, September 2006, Barber Motorsports Park, Birmingham, Alabama
  • SEMA Show, November 2006, Las Vegas (tentative)
