Trio of Shelby GT500’s Unveiled At SEMA

Ford goes big at SEMA this year with the introduction of a Trio of Shelby GT500 Mustangs each with specific goals in mind for the Street, Track and Dragstrip. The most powerful of the three is the 2007 Shelby GT500 Professional Road Racer with the 5.0-liter Cammer engine stuffed under the hood putting out more than 500 horsepower. The Drag Racing GT500 dubbed the “Dragin Snake” was built by Paul’s High Performance of Jackson, MI for one reason and one reason only, to kick ass in the quarter mile. This vehicle includes a mixture of Ford Racing and PHP parts that combine to make one hella drag car. The baby of the three if you can even say that is the Shelby GT500 Road and Track version which creates in the neighborhood of 600 horsepower through the addition of Ford Racing Performance packs and other odd FRP parts. Awesome! Will these bad boys be available thru SVT dealerships or Shelby American in an arrangement similar to the megabucks FR500C Grand American Cup Mustangs? Or do ya gotta order the parts from FRPP and break out the arc welder and the wrenches? Hopefully, both ways! The Nethead here presumes the “Road and Track” is the only street-legal model of the three–it doesn’t sound greatly modified from a GT500. How “approximately” is “approximately 600 Horsepower”? There’s lots of power still available–the Koenigsegg CCX in US-legal trim offers 806 HP and 678 foot pounds of torque from a 4700 cc version of the Ford GT engine (but for a much, much higher price). How much HP & torque does that 3.3 ‘charger on Paul’s Dragin Snake crank out? Paul is Badass, so this one ought to wail! The Nethead here presumes racing rubber comes on the Pro Road Racer and on the Dragin Snake–but what DOT-legal rubber equips the Road and Track (Will DCX sue over this moniker?)? If the S197 chassis has any “flaw”, I’d say it would have to be restrictive rear wheelwells–power available in these engines probably would benefit from rear wheelwells that could accommodate tires three inches wider than the OEM wheelwells can handle without scraping. Hau Thai Tang needs to make widening the rear wheelwells Job One on future Mustangs. Let’s see some times!

I am a good friend of the shop that painted the Dragin Snake and I believe that it produces about 635 hp to the wheels (not sure about the torque). This was done with just minor upgrades to keep the reliability of the engine and just show off some of PHP’s and Ford Racing’s parts.

Two new studies show why some people are more attractive for members of the opposite sex than others.
The University of Florida, Florida State University found that physically attractive people almost instantly attract the attention of the interlocutor, sobesednitsy with them, literally, it is difficult to make eye. In turn, a joint study of the Rockefeller University, Rockefeller University and Duke University, Duke University in North Carolina revealed that women are perceived differently by men smell. During experiments studied the perception of women one of the ingredients of male pheromone-androstenona smell, which is contained in urine or sweat.
The results were startling: women are part of this repugnant odor, and the other part is very attractive, resembling the smell of vanilla, and the third group have not felt any smell. The authors argue that the reason is that the differences in the receptor responsible for the olfactory system, from different people are different.
