You may have to take this news story at face value because it’s from a forum post on LS1.com and then reposted over at Stangnet. Supposedly a forum member on ls1 lives a few houses down from a guy who had in his possesion a Shelby GT-H for about a six-month period of time. All the time thinking the guy really owned the Shelby GT-H the ls1 forum member didn’t think to much about it as GT-H’s were auctioned off to dealers across the country. The story then takes a comical turn as he sees his neighbor getting arrested and thrown into the back of a police car along with the Shelby GT-H being towed away. He then precedes to talk to the cops and get the full story about how his neighbor rented the Shelby GT-H and failed to return it to Hertz thus making it a stolen vehicle. What I can’t believe is this went on for a six-month period of time before the Police or Hertz caught on or figured out what happend to the car. I am not sure who is dumber the guy who stole the Shelby GT-H, the Police or Hertz.

Another Shelby GT500 limited edition is on the way and this has to be the ultimate Mustang or as I like say it’s Kong. Ford and Shelby Autos are teaming up once again to produce a limited number of Shelby GT500 “Super Snake” Mustangs with horsepower numbers in the 600-725 range. The “Super Snake” package will be available on 2007 and 2008 GT500 Mustangs with the basic package pumping out 600 horsepower with the addition of the newly developed Ford Racing Supercharger upgrade kit.
The basic “Super Snake” package will be warranted by Ford and will also include 3.73 gears, Ford Racing exhaust system, Ford Racing handling pack, Shelby designed Alcoa 20″ wheels, short throw shifter, Baer 6 piston brakes, carbon composite hood, Super Snake Badging and a few other cosmetic enhancements.
If you are wondering what the 725 horsepower Super Snake package will include then your guess is as good as mine because Ford nor Shelby Autos has released any of that information but they have said they will not warranty it. Continue reading ‘Shelby GT500 “Super Snake” With 600 HP On The Way’

I know what you are thinking and your probably asking yourself why does a V6 Mustang need a performance clutch. Well because these days you can take a stock V6 Mustang right off the dealer lot and add some bolt-ons, a supercharger or turbo to make as much if not more reliable horsepower and torque then your basic GT for thousands less. It’s a scary thought for most GT owners but it’s the plain simple truth that there are V6 Mustangs running around that could give some GT owners a run for their money.
To give V6 Mustang owners some piece of mind who have high torque, high horsepower applications Centerforce is introducing a new Dual Friction clutch assembly for 2005-07 Ford Mustangs with the 4.0L V6 engine. Continue reading ‘New Dual Friction Centerforce Clutch For V6 Mustangs’

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) the Ford Mustang ranks in a tie for the eleventh spot on their list of the Most deadliest vehicles on the road with 150 deaths per million vehicles. The list was gathered from vehicles on the road between 2002 and 2005 and all the vehicles range in year from 2001-2004.
I would not read to much into this list because it does not show driving habits, age, price of the car, how many units were made or any crash tests for said model. I would definately not let these lists sway you into purchasing one car or another just because of how many fatalities per million. Nobody knows what contributing factors caused each specific accident or what type of person was driving each vehicle.
Just to give you an example, the vehicles on the highest vehicle death list are relatively inexpensive sporty models that are probably driven by younger less experienced drivers. The vehicles on the lowest vehicle deaths per million list and the models are basically just the opposite of the other list with those being typically higher priced and larger vehicles for older more financially secure family minded people. I bet if you switched drivers from the less expensive sporty models to that of the higher priced luxury models and vice versa the fatality numbers would probably decrease because you are putting less experienced drivers in safer larger vehicles while putting older defensive drivers in the sporty models. I feel like I have just confused myself and probably you as well with that explanation but I hope my point was understood.
Check out the lists after the jump and make your own conclusions. Continue reading ‘Is The Ford Mustang A Deadly Car? Stats Say Yes’

They have arrived like an early Christmas present for Mustang fanatics around the country, the 2008 Ford Mustang and Shelby GT500 order guides began popping up on Mustang forums via Ford employees last week. The order guides typically come out this time every year just as the order banks open up for the 2008 models. Yes you read that right, the order banks as some like to call them are open and you can actually go down to your dealer and place an order for a 2008 Mustang even though the 2007 models are still in production.
