Forget about buying the Shelby GT500 KR with 540 horsepower for upwards of $50K, why not just buy a Shelby GT500 and add two bolt-ons plus a tune from Steeda for an extra 144 hp at around $1500. Steeda has come out with a new Cold Air Kit specifically designed for the Shelby GT500 that produces the greatest power gains of any kit on the market combined with their Custom SCT Tune. The horsepower generated from the kit and tune equal 97 additional horsepower to the rear wheels. If you add Steeda’s Supercharger pulley to those two mods horsepower jumps to 144 additional rear wheel horsepower and they have the dyno results to prove it. The custom creations people come up with amaze me sometimes, this one is no different as somebody has decided to take a 1985 Ranger and mate it with the front clip and 302 engine from an early 80’s Mustang. It can be yours for the low buy it now price of $1800. Check out the auction for yourself.

It’s what 5.0 Magazine & Super Fords is calling a dream tour and rightfully so because anybody who is a Mustang fan would give just about anything to tour Ford’s Romeo Engine Niche Line and see how the Shelby GT500’s engine is built through all phases of assembly. 5.0 M&SF was lucky enough to get the opportunity to follow the GT500 engine from it’s start as a fresh cast-iron block on the Romeo Engine Niche Line to it’s finish at the Auto Alliance International assembly plant where it’s mated with the body to make a complete Shelby GT500. I have never really read anything about Jack Roush Jr. who is now 33, only a few news stories about races he has competed in and I could not find much when I googled his name but he is making news lately as he prepares for his 2007 season debut in the KONI Challenge Series. Jack Roush Jr. heads back to school to fine tune his racing skills and advance his learning curve from the go-karts he’s previously driven to the heavier full body Mustang pictured above to make another run at racing. Last week Roush spent a few days at Firebird International Raceway with Mike McGovern, head instructor at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance driving brushing up on his road racing skills.
”I learned a lot about road racing in a short amount of time,” Roush explained. “It was sort of like cramming for an exam. The two main things we focused on was looking through the corner and learning more about vehicle dynamics, such as how to adjust the behavior of the car through a turn with throttle and brake as handling devices. I am really excited to put these new skills to use at Homestead.”
Jack Jr.’s first race will be on April 13-15 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, a 2.3-mile stadium road course. Continue reading ‘Jack Roush Jr. Goes To School To Prepare For Koni Challenge’

He’s not the current owner of this ride but Eminem (Marshal Mathers) was the first when he purchased this car back in 1999 from Russ Milne Ford in Macomb, Michigan after he recieved his first royalty check for cutting his very first album. When he bought this Mustang new it was originally Red but later decided to change the color to something more flashy, he decided on Purple along with adding a set of custom wheels. Eminem kept this car in his possession until 2003 when he put it up for auction on Ebay. The winning bidder of that auction who is the current owner was 12-year old Courtney Wittenbern, an heiress to a multimillion-dollar health club empire started by her father. It seems as though Courtney has grown tired of the car and will auction it away to another owner. Check out the auction here.
