Day 4, 5, 6 Barrett-Jackson Mustang Results

January 24th, 2007 by CobraMatt

I know it’s about a day late and a dollar short but I promised all your folks out there in Mustang land I would post up the rest of the Mustang results from the Barrett-Jackson auction.

Friday and Saturday at BJ are the days you should stop what you are doing and force yourself to attend or watch on Speed because these are the days the big money is spent and was it ever. Friday’s auctions varied quite a bit with the high for the day including Lot# 1025 , a 1968 Shelby GT500 convertible that went for $313,500 and the low Lot# 1067 a 1965 Mustang GT Fastback that brought $36,300.

The what the heck were thinking auction of the day goes to Lot# 916, a custom 2004 Cobra SVT convertible that featured some wide body panels in the rear along with a custom dash and interior. The car looked totally rediculous and I am in total awe that it brought $49,500 for the final sale price. Who buys this kind of stuff, this auction was a total shocker.

Saturday is the biggest day at BJ with all the big guns auctioning off all the money makers. Most Mustangs on this day went in the six-figure range with a few eclipsing the half-a-million mark. The top Mustang on this day was of course the first production 2007 Ford Shelby GT #001 that brought in $660,000 which included the buyers premium. The Shelby GT was bought by Arizona business man Ron Pratte who also bought the first Shelby GT500 last year along with purchasing Carroll Shelby’s personal 1966 Shelby Cobra Super Snake for $5.5 Million dollars this year. Some other top sellers on this day included Lot# 1325, a 1969 Boss Mustang 429 Fastback that brought in $605K and not to be outdone was Lot# 1269 , another 1969 Boss Mustang 429 Fastback that brought a final sale price of $489,500.

The big sale on Saturday if you have not heard and are living under a rock was Carroll Shelby’s 1966 Shelby Cobra Super Snake that brought in a record $5.5 Million dollars.

Sunday is go day and I say that because most people are headed back to where they came from with the exception of few die-hards who stick around to get a good deal. On this day the top Mustang Lot# 1565.1, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Fastback brought a staggering $319K, not bad for the final day.
