Looks like somebody’s parents wouldn’t buy him a Mustang for their first car so instead of working for the money like most normal teenagers, David Nelson of Bettendorf, Iowa has decided to take his campaign to the web.  David has put up a site called MustangFund.com and his goal is to raise $17K to buy a used Convertible 2005-07 Mustang through donations via Paypal.  As of writing this he has not received one donation toward his Mustang but it’s early so check back in a week to see what kind of progress this kid has made.

Yeah right. Listen, if someone will buy me a Mustang, I’ll do more than that kid. And I promise my self esteem will be at its highest possible.

This kid is pushing his luck … there are many more kids in real needs than getting a car and a mustang on top of that. I don’t think this is fair to the other kids in needs around the world. I can understand a little more for a normal car, but a mustang fully equiped … what will be next ??? need money for gas, insurance, repairs …

i donated a couple of bucks. its just an experiment written with a tad of humor ( i think ), and I’d be interested to see if it works for him. if it does, however, work for him, thats pretty neat the way he will have gotten it, imo.

I already own a 2007 Mustang GT, but the other day, when I spotted both a Lambo Gallardo and a Bentley Continental GT Coupe on the road, I suddenly felt inadequate and depressed at being forced to drive such a relatively inexpensive car, and was wondering if any of you out there would care to contribute to MY fund….?

I sorta feel bad for those owners who pay upwards of $200K for a car. Are you really getting your moneys worth when you spend that much.

My love of Mustangs grew in High School. I had a 1969 Mustang Coupe that I had to constantly work on to keep running. It was far from the coolest car on campus but I loved it because I worked hard to make something I could be proud of instead of it being bought for me. Today I own a 1966 GT Convertible that last year earned a 2nd place in a National MCA show. I would suggest the kid find himself a Fox body Mustang and get to work.
