The 2008 Shelby GT took top honors for the “Car of The Year” in the 2007 Writer’s Choice awards at the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) Spring Challenge in the hill country of Austin, Texas last week. The Shelby GT competed against 66 different models ranging in price from $16K-$70K.  The Shelby GT was driven by some 40 journalists who all agreed this was the model that deserved the top prize.

In 2005, the Ford GT took “Car of The Year” top honors at the same event.
