80 Fiberglass Colts Created For Charity Art Project
May 26th, 2008 by CobraMatt

Allison Hokinson, Vicki Cottam and Connie Bier have designed 80 life-size fiberglass colts as part of the “Horsing Around Town” exhibition to benefit SMILES therapeutic riding center. The art project is a sensory experience for children with disabilities who will have the opportunity to use thier senses to interact with the horses. The horses will be decorated with various items to incorporate all five senses including sight, smell, hearing, taste and touch.
One of the horses that caught my eye is called “When I grow up I want to be a Mustang” which is covered in photos of various Ford Mustangs from different years. Others will include a leather saddle for the sense of smell, another will have rope, rocks and glass stones glued to the ankles of one horse for the sense of touch. All 80 fiberglass horses will be very unique in how they are designed.
The event will be held at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin on May 31st from 2 to 6 pm. For more information on the event check out this article from Gazettextra.com.
