Too bad, I bet alot of people don’t realize the GT is an economy car if you keep your foot out of it. I have been driving very gently and I’m getting 25 mpg 50/50 driving.
I can get 30 if I drive 55 and use cruise. I do have a manual transmission.

There are several factors. A lot of people bought early back in ‘04, ‘05 and ‘06. The economy is slowing and Mustangs depreciate quickly, meaning low mileage ‘05 and up cars can be had much cheaper.
The third is obviously gas prices, most people can get a GT to do 25 mpg if driven easily. Some on the internet claim 30 mpg, which I suppose is possible if great care is given, stop and go driving is at a minimum, and the terrain is accommodating (it’s MUCH easier to get high MPG in a flat state, for example). However, the consumer knows that a Ford Focus driven under the same conditions might return close to 40 mpg.

Considering buying a 2008 Bullitt but don’t know if the car will have much future value with all the changes coming on the ‘09 and future ‘Stangs. Any comments?
