The auction for Both KITT’s featured on the TV movie Knight Rider and the rights to purchase the last 2009 Shelby GT500KR made sold for $300,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach event on Saturday.  Initially the auction was for both KITT’s but as bidding stalled out at $160K Mark Fields from Ford took control of the microphone and announced in addition to both cars the winner of the auction would also get the rights to buy a 2009 Shelby GT500KR at MSRP.  With that being said bidding jumped up to $240K where it once again fizzled out but then the annoucement came the 2009 Shelby GT500KR would be the last one produced #1576.  When all was said and done the bidding ended at $300K.  All proceeds of the auction went to ‘Salute to Education’ charity.
