I've seen the '07 Shelby GT upclose at my local dealer. I'll be honest with you, it didn't impress me all that much. First off, the Shelby hood scoop looks real tacky. In fact, Ford's own hood scoop on their GT appearance package looks 200% better. And then, there's the front grille, which is nothing more than an overlay clamped over the stock honeycomb grille. Compared to the '08 Shelby GT500's complete grille (also at my dealer's showroom), the '07's setup looked real cheapy. Your car may indeed hold its value better than a regular GT, not because of its looks or performance, but only because of the Shelby nameplate.

Bob, its just a basic GT engine with a few add-ons, xpipe, catback, air intake, shelby suspension (lowered), computer tune, 3.55 gears. It has 335 horsepower, I can attest it definately feels alot quicker than a regular GT having drove both before I bought the Shelby GT.

Snake Bit, Happy to hear I helped you out with your GT500.

Congrats on the new Shelby, it's a sweet looking ride!

While I'm at it, thanks for putting in the time on this blog. I say that because you pointed me in the right direction in my search for an '07 GT 500. The dealerships in this area were actually using sharpie markers to add $16K to the sticker and I was about to give up and buy a Saleen (not a bad choice, tho'). I hadn't even thought of Ebay for a *new* car until I found this blog.

Long story short, I found one that a collector had to get rid of; still in the factory wrappings with 6 factory miles at $2,500.00 over sticker.

To Mauri Reeder - the answer to you question is "Yes". That stripe will make a big difference someday. That's just the way it is. Rarity and specialty is what brings in the bigger values in the future.

Mauri,

Never said the car would be worth more money down the road. Part of my decision for buying it instead of the regular Mustang GT was which one would hold its value better. Obviously the Shelby GT will because they made less of them than regular Mustang GT's and the fact Shelby's name is attached to won't hurt.

How ironic...I saw your fox online for sale. I almost contacted you, but found something else with a manual. Congrats!

Do you really think a plastic stripe on the side that says SHELBY GT will made you worth a lot more money a few years down the road?
