February 27th, 2008 by CobraMatt

Ford Motor company is recalling some 470,000 S197 Mustangs built from 2005-08 to recalibrate how forcefully the air bag deploys on the front passenger side of the car. Ford spokesman Wesley Sherwood said internal testing showed air bags could injure a small, unbelted passenger. Sherwood also says no reports of injuries or accidents are tied to this recall.
Customers will be notified in early March by mail at which time they can take thier car to a local dealer to have the air bag recalibrated to deploy at a lower force.
