More Proof Idiots Work at Top Gear, Shelby GT not GT500
March 10th, 2008 by CobraMatt
This time it’s the other co-host of Top Gear, Richard Hammond who makes himself look like an idiot. In the video he races a remote controlled car against a Shelby GT not a Shelby GT500 as he states. You can clearly tell it’s the Shelby GT and not a Shelby GT500, any 5-year old could tell you that. Makes you wonder if they are doing this on purpose or are they really that stupid. Thanks for the tip ‘Chris’.

Maybe you should watch some more episodes of Top Gear. They aren’t serious half the time. But anyways, here’s a clip where the presenter up above (Hammond) drives his own GT 390:

Did you notice the tailights on the Shelby GT? They’ve got the white lights down the middle, just like the spy shots of the 2010 model, but the front end doesn’t look like it’s changed at all from the 2005 - 2008 model.

Again, you’ve found something that is definitely wrong but you’re way behind. This episode aired months ago.
If you really want to get mad at the Brits, look for the GT500 road test where they completely lie to their viewers about dyno numbers. They roll the GT500 onto a dyno and get 435 at the rear wheels, then say what a ripoff the car is. No explanation of flywheel vs rear wheel power, just makes it look like a bunch of Americans lied and can’t build a car right.

I think the Jeremy Clarkson and his cohorts should be looking at some more serious issues like air pollution, carbon emissions, running costs, fuel efficiency etc. I think it is electric vehicles(such as those manufactured by ZAP)that are the vehicles of the future and what Jeremy and his merry men should be looking to promote!

Go watch “Fifth Gear” a more informative, fact based auto program.
This is about entertainment, the only reason the BBC even gave them a second chance at airing top gear was because people found it entertaining. Regular people dont want to see die hard hardcore reviews of cars etc… It’s been proving. Which is why they were cancelled.
But as an entertainment program, it just shines. Plus, they do honest reviews of some of the best cars out there (and in fact have even payed attention to the emissions of vehicles ala F430 / 997 Turbo).
