Art and Design student Jack Kirby from the University of Hertfordshire in England collected some 5,000 Budweiser beer cans to create a replica of a 1965 Ford Mustang. His inspiration for this project was an online contest by Bud to give away a real 65 Mustang. Pretty sweet if you ask me, is the motor all aluminum, sorry had to. Another photo after the jump. In this episode Mr. Roush talks about a 1965 Ford Mustang K-Code that he picked up for his son Jack Jr. a few years after he graduated college. The Mustang was purchased from it’s previous owner who restored the car to a fair condition. After Jack got ahold of it they restored it to proper specs with all the correct parts. The Mustang packed a 289 High Performance engine with mechanical lifters. Enjoy…
In this episode about Jack’s Toys, he talks about two of the cars that started his collection way back when. The first car is a recreation of a 1964 1/2 Mustang convertible he drove when he started working for Ford Motor Company in 1964. The other Mustang convertible in this video was owned by friend who had a wheel and tire company in Detroit, his daughter drove the car while in college but unfortunely the car had an engine fire and was delcared a total loss. One day Jack noticed the vehicle sitting in a lot and decided to restore the car to add to his collection. These two cars definately have some history if they were what started it all.

I found this auction a bit late but thought why not post it up with all the Bullitt news lately. For a 39 year old car this 1968 Mustang GT 390 with it’s original engine, Highland Green paint and black interior is a dead on ringer for the car Steve McQueen drove in the Bullitt movie. The car sports it’s original 390 big block engine putting out somewhere in the 400 horsepower range with a rebuild taking place about 5K miles ago. The owner says the car is a solid 7 on a scale of 1-10 and has a Marti report to verify it’s originality.
As of writing this the auction has 6 bids up to the $25K mark with the reserve not being met and the car can be yours for a buy it now of $38,500. Check out the auction and all the details here.
Just when you think you seen every engine possibility thrown into a Mustang some dude with an WWII Sherman Tank engine decides to install one in his 1970 Mustang. The engine is an all aluminum 1100 cubic inch V8 rated at 500 hp and a staggering 1,050 ft. lbs. of torque that was built in the 1940’s and used for military service during WWII. It is mated to a heavily modified Powerglide tranny with a custom adapter and flexplate. Some things just amaze me. More pictures after the jump. I came across a bunch of videos featuring the 2007 Saleen Parnelli Jones limited-edition Mustang that have been added to the Motor Trend site for your viewing pleasure. The videos include information about the 2007 Saleen Parnelli Jones Mustang including commentary from Steve Saleen and Parnelli Jones on how the limited-edition Mustang came about. The videos also include Saleen and Jones getting in some track time on both the current Saleen along with an old school Boss 302 Mustang. I have added the links below to all the videos.
This video starts out with Brit Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear fame talking about the 1968 390 Mustang and all it’s glory. The video continues with him doing some hot laps around a track in a Shelby GT500 Convertible and a Stage 3 Supercharged Roush Mustang. With the cameras rolling inside the vehicle and out he is commentating as he maneuvers through the tracks twists and turns with his driving ability being top notch. You have to love his brash no holds bar review of both cars, although he does kinda seem like a homer for the Roush Mustang.

If you don’t know by now I guess I can fill you in, I am addicted to Ebay. Most have probably noticed my addiction since I shove Ebay auctions in your face every 4 or 5 blog entries. I spend countless hours on the site searching for crap I do not need and I bet thier are hundreds if not thousands of people out there just like me. I spend most of my time searching around the Motors section looking for anything and everything but mostly for my next car as if I had the money to purchase it. Today I was searching for Shelby’s and after wading through the junk I found a bunch of good auctions for the Shelby GT-H, GT, GT500 and the classic GT500 KR. I have listed all those auctions below with a link to the auction along with a few tidbits of info. I hope everybody enjoys my addiction and what has come of it.
If you are a fan of the ‘American Chopper’ TV show on the Discovery channel then you are all to familiar with Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. of Orange County Choppers and their Shelby GT500E “Super Snake” Mustangs that were built exclusively for them by Unique Performance. These rare GT500E Super Snakes of which only 75 were made are going on the auction block at the 2007 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction that will be taking place on January 13-21 which hopefully I will be attending again for the second straight year unless something comes up.
Paul Sr.’s GT500E Super Snake which is Lot#1317 was part of an episode of American Choppers where they built a custom Shelby GT500E “Eleanor” Chopper and traded Unique Performance for the GT500E. Paul Sr.’s car was completely custom built to exact specifications and delivered to him during an OCC episode at the 2004 SEMA show.
Paul Jr.’s GT500E Super Snake which is Lot#1318 is made with the same go fast goodies as dads but his was personally designed and customized by Chip Foose including a two-tone paint job and 19 inch Foose wheels. Paulie as he is called on the show has only racked up 75 miles on the clock and his car like his fathers was unveiled a year later at the 2005 SEMA show.
