Some may call this an act of stupidity but about two weeks ago I sold my 2003 Cobra Convertible for no reason at all. Everybody that I have told keeps asking me why did you sell your Cobra, it was your dream car. I can honestly say it was my dream car back in 2003 but I am not a person to keep cars for long periods of time nor do I really get attached to the Mustangs I buy. I like to drive a Mustang for a few years and then get something new which I will be doing in the coming month. I do still have my 1992 5.0 LX convertible which I will be driving to and from work until I find my next prize.
So my journey begins for my next Mustang which I have already been scouring autotrader and Ebay for. I have narrowed my next Mustang choice down to a 2006-07 GT coupe or convertible, maybe a GT/CS or Shelby GT or if I can find another 03-04 Terminator with real low miles I might jump on it. I really want to upgade to a newer style Mustang so that is mostly what I will be searching for. I really like the way 2007-08 California Special Mustangs look but I only like White. Color is another thing I should mention, I will only buy a Yellow, White, Silver and maybe Grabber Orange but I am not really sure about that color, it just looks to blah although I do like how it stands out. So that is basically what I am looking for, I will keep updating everybody on my search.
One of these days I am going to put up a page with photos telling all about the Mustangs I have owned.
For one 2003 Cobra owner who was caught street racing illegally in Charlotte, North Carolina he payed the ultimate price of having his ride confiscated by police. The Cobra along with a 2005 350Z were caught street racing in South Charlotte and are now property of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police HITS (Highway Interdiction and Safety) Unit.
According to CMPD Captain Andy Kornberg “If you get caught street racing, we’re going to take your car and I’m going to enjoy driving it.” Now the police are using the cars in Charlotte to combat street racing, speeders and aggresive drivers who break the law. Instead of hiding behind billboards in marked cars “We are going to hide in plain sight,” said Kornberg who vows to stop illegal street racing by setting a precedant to other street racers, if you get caught racing we will take your car.
Ever dreamed of owning an Aston Martin Vanquish like the one James Bond drove, well your dream maybe closer to reality then you ever thought thanks to Canadian company Exclusive Motors. The Canadian tuning company is bringing the Aston Martin Vanquish to the masses by building a replica based on 99-04 Mustangs. To make the replica as authentic as possible the Mustang has to be completely stripped down and completely rebuilt by hand utilizing a 34-piece body kit along with a complete custom interior. The company chose 99-04 Mustangs because of their new styling and how closely it resembles the Aston Martin family of vehicles. As for the engine the company plans on a full range of Mustang engines including a 5.4 liter V8.
According to the company the Ford Mustang enabled them to create a car which had very low and inexpensive maintnence along with low insurance rates. For the build process they used 10 different companies to build the car allowing each company to put their unique touch on certain areas of the car. I have listed the whole build process below after the photos.
I have to admit after looking over the photos this has to be one of the best replicas I have ever seen. The replica Aston Martin Vanquish looks exactly like the real thing. What they did with the interior is almost shocking, you can tell it’s a 99-04 Mustang but you have to do a double take. No pricing has been announced for the kit but expect it to be rather expensive.
On this episode about Jack’s Toys he talks about three special Mustangs he has in his collection including a 1994 Cobra Pace Car convertible that has neve been driven, a PPG cart series Mustang pace car and a Bob Bondurant driving school Mustang. Blacks Automotive, a specialty Mustang dealer out of Florida is auctioning off their personal car, a 2002 Beryllium Saleen Extreme coupe that is 1 of 3. Saleen built 3 Beryllium vehicles from 2002 to 2004, two Extreme coupes and one convertible which was Steve Saleens personal car. One of the Extreme coupes was totaled out and does not exist so the car above is actually 1 of 2 making it the only coupe in existence. This Beryllium beast has 22K miles on the clock and makes somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 horsepower and 501 ft-lbs of torque. The car comes with tons of aftermarket parts and the paperwork to prove it.
As of writing this the auction has 5 bids up to $30K with 4 1/2 days left.
If you think you are having a bad day just think about how this driver feels after rolling his Yellow Mustang GT into a Cadillac dealership hitting not one but FIVE brand new cars. At our sister site StangWrecks.com I have posted three photos of this wreck, not many details are known but I think the pictures speak for themselves.
If you want to see more Mustang wreck photos check out StangWrecks.com.
You might remember this car from some Mustang Mags and also the 2003 SEMA show. Xtreme Mustang Performance built this car in a little less then 6 weeks stripping it down to nothing more then a rolling chassis. The car is a 2003 Mach I with a Paxton Novi-2000 supercharger, enough gauges to rival a F-16 fighter jet and more TV’s then a Best Buy showroom. Other customizations include a Saleen body kit, HRE wheels, custom targa top, Lambo doors and full Maximum Motorsports suspension. These mods are just the tip of the iceberg as this car recieved so many parts from so many suppliers that it’s rediculous. As of writing this the auction has a Buy It Now of $29,995 and one bid at $15K. Check out the auction for all the details. I have included some photos after the jump… Continue reading ‘Ebay: Xtreme Mustang Performance 2003 Mach I’
From the looks of this SN-95 Cobra the owner is taking the expression “presentation is everything” to a higher level. The Cobra is done up in a White/Black Kiss Theme with Gullwing Doors and from the looks of the video Chucky is sitting in the drivers seat holding the detachable steering wheel. In the passenger seat area the owner has removed the seat with a mini pond/swimming pool complete with fish aquarium garb and a few goldfish to make it legit. Also in the general area where a passengers feet might be the owner has a budlight beer display with mirror and flowing mugs. The interior also boats a stereo system and nitrous bottle along with a TV in the backseat. As for the hood it has been split down the middle and now opens like a side-by-side fridge. That’s all I can write about this, I don’t want it to take any more of my time up. Just watch the video and let me know your thoughts.
A 27-year old woman in Carlsbad, CA decided to take her 2003 Convertible Mustang for a swim into a homeowners pool after she had been drinking and popped pills. The Mustang rested at the bottom of the pool with the top down, made for an easy escape. The driver fled the scene and was later picked up by police, a passenger was found near the scene.
This beauty comes to us from Ebay via an anonymous tipster, and from what I see it’s far from beautiful. I always see some pretty funky bodykits on Mustangs these days but this one looks as if Batman designed it himself. The front bumper to me looks like it’s at least a foot longer then the stock one and the side vents just add to the mystique. I would have to say if Batman drove a Mustang this might be the one. Check out more pics after the jump. Continue reading ‘Ebay: Batman Called, He Wants His Mustang Back’
